Windows 7 Syntek Webcam Driver

Just by chance and some efforts, I find D-MAX webcam driver also works for my syntek dc-112x webcam as "some" D-MAX webcams use syntek's components.

You can get a D-MAX webcam driver from ASUS Supporting Site. For Windows 7, you should download D-MAX "Version V7.11.719.002" driver (the other D-MAX driver is not for syntek hardware). For Vista, you can download D-MAX "Version V6.21.20.004". These drivers are created for higher version syntek components, such as 1135 and 2135, but I find them also work for dc-112x.

Windows cannot automatically detect and install the D-MAX driver for your syntek webcam. To use the driver, you much first unzip the downloaded file. Then plug in your usb webcam and go to device manager. Right click the supposed webcam device to install new driver. Choose manual driver installation. In the next screen, don't select your driver directory, click the option to select from the device driver list in the computer. Then select video/Image device from the list. In the next screen, click "install from floppy" and now select the unziped driver directory. Continue to install even Windows warn you that may not be the correct device driver. The installation will proceed and your webcam should work now.

Good Luck!
